Outside Catchment Enrolments

WebPartZone1_1
PublishingPageContent

Morayfield State High School recognises as its prime obligation, the provision of access to an appropriate educational service for students whose principal place of residence is within the school's catchment area.

Because of enrolment capacity and growth, Morayfield State High School may be unable to meet this obligation in the future, unless action is taken to manage enrolments. The Principal must restrict the enrolment of Outside Catchment students to ensure Inside Catchment students can enrol at their local state school, without requiring additional facilities.

Applications from any other person, not meeting the Inside Catchment criteria, is an Outside Catchment application. Enrolment of students from outside the local catchment area is restricted to ensure that enrolments do not exceed the student enrolment capacity. This school can only enrol Outside Catchment students:

  • if there is sufficient spare capacity after reserving places for students who move into the catchment during the year

  • after taking into account the school's projected future enrolment growth.

Additional Documentation

In addition to the enrolment application, other documentation is required by the applicant to support the student's Outside Catchment enrolment application:

Student's Birth Certificate

The student's Birth Certificate is only required if your student is enrolling from an interstate, overseas, or has never been enrolled in a Queensland State School before.

Please note: students are enrolled under the name registered on their Birth Certificate, however, a preferred name can be listed on the enrolment paperwork under 'preferred name'.

In addition to the documentation listed above, students living with a relative/other person must provide the following:

  • Properly sworn statutory declaration from the student's parent/carer.

  • Properly sworn statutory declaration from the person(s) the student will be residing with.

The Principal may also request an interview(s) with all parties to discuss the living arrangement.
