Connect
Connect is our whole school wellbeing and positive education program. The aim of the program is to equip our students with organisational, social and personal skills that enable them to become healthy and resilient individuals and members of the wider community. We educate our students about the amazing benefits of adopting an optimistic outlook in their lives and introduce them to the little positive actions they can do often so that they shine. Through this program we are able to prepare students to adopt growth mindsets to learn and try new things and as a result enhance their brains ability to grow and develop. This program is delivered to students on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
GP Schools
Helping students access the health care they need.
Our school is proud to be one of 50 state schools with secondary students participating in the GPs in State Schools Program. The Program is designed to make it easier for adolescents to access the healthcare they need.
What services will the GP provide?
Our school GP clinic offers secondary students the majority of services that young people are able to access from GPs in the community, including management of physical health, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health issues.
Is there a cost for students to see the GP?
All visits to the GP are provided at no cost to students or their families. The GP bulk-bills all appointments through Medicare, so it is important that students bring their Medicare card (or their Medicare number) with them to their appointment.
Our school clinic staff.
Our school’s GP is Dr Shahab, a General Practitioner (GP). Dr Shahab provides a service at Health Hub Doctors Morayfield on the days when they are not operating our school’s GP clinic. Dr Shahab provides free and confidential medical care for all secondary students at Morayfield State High School.
