Intersection Upgrade

11/03/2013
Construction

Work has commenced on the upgrade of the Visentin Road/Station Road intersection at the front of the school. This caused some confusion and delays on the first day of school, but movement has improved as we settle into the school year. Pedestrian access to the school is being heavily monitored to ensure student safety and I congratulate our students on their mature and responsible behaviour on their way to and from school.

Many parents have made arrangements with their students to pick up in the streets behind the school or from the shopping centre which has eased the congestion. I also ask parents to adhere to the two-minute drop off zone on entry and to refrain from entering the school grounds to pick up students, as we have limited parking and the turnaround areas in front of Administration and near the football oval are designated delivery and emergency vehicle areas. Increased motor vehicle activity in these areas could compromise student safety.

Once completed, the upgrade will improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety. We will continue to work with the contractor and with Moreton Bay Regional Council to minimise disruption and will keep you informed with regular updates from the Council in our newsletter. Please refer to our Community Notices for a map, outlining the construction and other details.
